this is an advertising project that I did in class, we were suppose to use the history of typography to advertise a modern product. in my case I chose to take a font that looked more like it belonged in the late 60s, the psychedelic age. unfortunately it didn't work out too well for me and I have to say it's not my best work and I didn't get the best grade for it either, but I decided to put it on my blog anyway. just because.

for our final performance exam in digital illustration we were to create a christmas card using only 3 spot colors along with white if we choose.I kind of like this one because of the fact that it took me so long to do. I was knit picking everything to make sure that it all looked just the way I wanted it to look. for example, I didn't want the leaves to collide with each other so I would keep on adjusting them to make sure they didn't blend in with each other and look too much the same, or making the gradient on the bells look as real as possible so that it looks like there is a light source coming from the bottom of the page and so on.
this is my type drawing of Hugh Laurie. it was a project for my typography class. I used a font called Universe, we were suppose to use more than one font but I totally spaced on that part and just made the whole thing out of the universe font. it looks a little rough but that's only because when I put it in a pdf format some of the I's got a little messed up. it was sad but it still looks pretty good to me:)
